Is anyone else completely losing it with the iPhone photo search function? Seriously, this whole thing has become a disaster. I try to search for photos from Halloween, and what do I get? A random assortment of 300 pictures that have absolutely nothing to do with Halloween. It’s infuriating when you just want to quickly find those memories.
And don’t even get me started on videos. I typed in “videos taken in Florida,” thinking it would be straightforward. Nope. Zero results. My immediate panic was, “Did this latest update just delete all 20,000 of my videos?!” It feels impossible to find anything anymore. Where did they all go? It’s honestly insane. This is beyond ridiculous.
And it’s not just photos and videos; the search problems extend to text messages too. I can type out a full text message, word for word, that I know exists, and the search yields nothing. Nothing! Before, I could type in just the first few letters, and it would pop right up. What happened?
Contacts are another nightmare. Try searching for a contact like “Bob.” You’d think that’d be simple, right? Instead, I have to scroll for what feels like forever – a good 10 seconds at least – past every single contact that doesn’t have “Bob” in the name, just to find the actual contact named Bob.
I’m seriously starting to wonder if my iPhone is just glitching out. Is this some kind of sick joke? Because I can even search within my iPhone settings for “contact” – and it doesn’t even find the Contacts app in the search results! But if I manually click on the Contacts app and scroll through, there’s the contact I was just searching for, mocking me with its existence.
This whole situation, coupled with Siri’s talk-to-text being increasingly unreliable, makes me feel like these updates are actively damaging what was already working perfectly fine. At this point, I’m seriously considering ditching this smartphone and going back to a Nokia flip phone or something. Every time I open my photo app now, it feels like I’m losing my mind. Is anyone else experiencing this level of frustration? How do I even search a photo effectively anymore?
