Experience Crystal Cove as it existed from 1935 to 1955 within one of our 24 meticulously restored cottages. Our collection includes fourteen individual cottages and ten dorm-style cottages featuring private rooms, ensuring a perfect option for every guest. Positioned either directly on the sandy beach or perched atop a bluff overlooking the ocean, each cottage has been painstakingly revived to retain the original architectural charm of these historic structures. The exciting news of the North Beach Restoration Project is here! We are delighted to announce that the final funding has been secured for the North Beach Cottage Restoration Project. This milestone allows us to open the first group of eight newly restored North Beach cottage rental units. Thanks to a strategic investment from Bank of America and the leveraging of Federal Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credits, the Conservancy successfully secured the last $10 million for this significant $55 million restoration endeavor. This innovative approach incentivizes investment in historically significant structures, providing crucial capital for construction and offering tax benefits to investors. Please be aware of a Courtesy Notice regarding Phase III Restoration activities within the Crystal Cove State Park Historic District. Significant construction is currently underway, involving the installation of new infrastructure and the rehabilitation of the remaining cottages for public overnight rentals.
Construction activities will be most apparent near the upper bluff Cottages #18, #29, situated at the construction project entrance, and the newly renovated Cottage #9 on the Boardwalk. Cottages located in the lower hollow will experience minimal disruption.
Construction is scheduled on weekdays only, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with no work occurring on weekends, State, or National holidays. Access to park facilities will remain unchanged throughout this period.
While the construction process may cause temporary inconvenience, we are confident that the long-term benefits of adding 22 additional overnight rental units, all accessible to the public, will far outweigh any short-term disruptions.
