Creating a slideshow with Google Photos is a quick and easy way to showcase your favorite pictures. This guide provides a step-by-step walkthrough on how to create a slideshow using Google Photos on the web. Unfortunately, the Google Photos mobile apps for iOS and Android do not currently support this feature.

Creating Your Google Photos Slideshow
Follow these simple steps to create a slideshow:
1. Choose Your Album or Photos
Navigate to the Albums section in Google Photos. Select the album containing the photos you want to include in your slideshow. You can also create a new album specifically for your slideshow, which can help with organization and allow you to easily recreate the slideshow later.
2. Select Your Photos
Within the chosen album, select the photos you want to include in the slideshow. Click on each photo to add it to your selection. Remember, you can only choose photos from a single album for each slideshow. If you want to use all photos within an album, skip this step and proceed directly to step 3.

3. Open the More Options Menu
After selecting your photos (or choosing to use the entire album), click on the three-dot icon (More Options) located in the upper right corner of the screen.
4. Start the Slideshow
In the dropdown menu, select the Slideshow option.

Your slideshow will begin playing automatically. Photos will transition with a 5-second crossfade effect. Photos in newly created albums will display in chronological order (oldest to newest), regardless of the order they were added to the album.
Google Photos Slideshow Limitations
While creating a slideshow in Google Photos is straightforward, there are some limitations to keep in mind:
- Customization: You cannot customize the transition time, add music, or rearrange the order of photos once the slideshow has started.
- Sharing: You can’t directly share a link to your slideshow. However, you can present it on any device with Google Photos or cast it to a Chromecast-enabled device to view it on a TV.
- Saving: Slideshows are not saved as separate files. They function directly from the album containing the photos.
For more advanced slideshow features, consider using third-party apps available on platforms like the Google Play Store. These often provide options for adding music, custom transitions, and other effects. However, if you need a simple, quick way to display your photos, the built-in Google Photos slideshow feature is a great option.
