Born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, in 1939, Nathan Hobbs graduated from Scottsbluff High School and attended Bethany Nazarene College. His career began as a machinist for Halliburton, while also serving as a Deputy at Stephens County and Morgan Ambulance.
In 1974, Hobbs founded A&H Security, expanding the business across Duncan, Lawton, and Tulsa, Oklahoma. This venture showcased his entrepreneurial drive and dedication to providing security services. Even in retirement, he continued working at Tulster, known for his playful nature and practical jokes.
A Passion for Ministry and Music
Beyond his professional life, Hobbs was deeply involved in ministry work. Around 1979, he combined his technical skills with his faith, working with sound systems and traveling with his family to various states to share his passion. He was known for his “duck calls” on Sunday mornings, whistling like a horse, and singing “Doe Ray Me Fa So La Ti Doe,” bringing joy and laughter to those around him.
Hobbs was a devoted family man, leaving behind his wife, Doris, of 39 years and four children: Bryan Hobbs, Julee Turner, Richard Hobbs, and Justin Courtney. He was also a proud grandfather to five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The funeral service was held on December 28th, 2019, at Wesleyan Bible Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, celebrating a life well-lived and a legacy of faith, service, and entrepreneurship.
